My dream is to I would like to continue studying and finish my studies
Hi! I am Melany Herrera, I’m 17, i was born in Lima, and I currently live in the Villa El Salvador district. I am currently a Law student at the UPC University. I consider myself to be a person of solidarity, respectful, cheerful, and sociable.
I came to the Hogar/Help Them Hope at 8 months of age with my mother and stayed until I was almost 3 years old. My delivery was risky to my mother since she was sick with a lung illness. Although I do not remember anything from when I was a baby,, my parents have always been open about what happened. A few years later when I was about 11, Help Them Hope gave us classes in English and also counseling sessions; although, sometimes I didn’t participate due to my age. I was able to get to know many wonderful people at the Hogar when I was a little girl. I would like to say that I am very grateful to all the people like Dr. Tony, the volunteers, and the staff for helping not only me and my mother but all those who also needed it. The support has given us the ability to face life as new opportunities arise.
